Glued
Photographic research that Luigi Ricci carried out through a stratification of spontaneous collages.
A collection of 20 pictures on coated paper (from 24x30 cm to 70x100 cm).
Photographic research carried out in the ‘80s in the workshop of the Falegnameria Gattucci of Pollenza, before it was completely renovated.
The prints are all made by the artist who checks all the phases of the printing process.
True stratifications of significant traces of the male imaginary through various generations of the period following World War II. “Paper girl friends” were they defined by Renzo Renzi. The Pin-ups were stuck on to truck windows in the ‘50s.
A decade later the prosperous girls portrayed less clothing much to the joy and passion of their sincere admirers. Soon enough were they stuck to the wall, in lockers, everywhere a reserved and personal space was available to host them.
They came together with a wide range of symbols that accompanied and regulated the working day.
Such an evocative and vital environment becomes a scenario one has to study carefully so as to draw abstract compositions from it, still life, metaphysical and Dadaistic allusions.
A “wall cycle” partially witnessing the life of the past century and the ever-present aesthetic value of these photographic works.
